You’d probably be surprised to see just how many Calgarians have never taken the opportunity to go up to the top of the Calgary Tower to take a look around. Many have lived in the city for years! Some people view the landmark as more of a tourist attraction and drive right by it every day without giving it a second thought. If you haven't seen the amazing view from the tower yet, it may be something that you might want to consider putting on your to-do list.
.When you arrive at the observation deck you'll be able to enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains and the hustle and bustle of Calgary. For a huge adrenaline flow try standing on the glass floor and then take a look down at the streets below!
The Calgary Tower has the highest 360° observation deck to be found in the world. It rises 1,228 m above sea level and features incredible entertainment, nightlife, culture and art events and shows. In April, Art up Calgary will be on hand for its fourth annual show that features a celebration of artists and art in the local community.
If you're interested in seeing this show it's completely free but you must RSVP in advance. On top of the amazing artwork, refreshments, silent auction and entertainment, you'll be able to see the full view of the Calgary area at the top.
You may also want to plan an evening out for dinner at one of the 2 restaurants in the tower. On the second level, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse serves cuisine in a New Orleans style while SKY 360 offers a varied menu while providing a full 60 minute rotation during the dinner hour. At lunchtime, the SKY 360 restaurant provides a full rotation once every 45 minutes.
