Summer Festivals to Continue at Full Speed This Year

With an eventful start to the summer that included a devastating flood, Calgary is ready to continue with its tradition of summer festivals nonetheless. After all, this city needs to get back to some sort of normalcy and what better way than by holding the summer festivals that we've long been used to?

Everyone living in the city was impacteded in one way or another, either directly or indirectly, by the flood. With the cleanup and restorations on the go, it's time to focus on the present and future while putting the city back together again.

This weekend Kensington’s Sun and Salsa Festival and Fiestaval were held with many more events lined up for the next month. At Fiestaval, people were able to enjoy the diverse dancing and culture in Calgary while connoisseurs of spicy food were able to tantalize their taste buds with salsa at the Kensington Festival.

These festivals let people have a break from the hardship they've endured and celebrate any milestones that they have achieved along the way. An exciting festival gives residents a chance to heal and also attracts people from other areas of Alberta.

Calgary welcomes a lot of tourists into the city every year and by holding these festivals it shows  visitors that the city is still the place to come to, flood or no flood. In fact, when you're in the middle of a festival and see the people around you having a good time, it's almost like the flood never happened. Almost.

It's good to take a break away from the harder things in life. It gives you a chance to take a second breath and then go back to the job at hand with a renewed determination. Some of the festivals that are going to be occurring this year may be just what you need to keep you motivated and to help you remember what a great city Calgary really is.
